Refund Policy

7-day refund, no questions asked, if you haven’t downloaded your PDF.

RentFiles is A$29, one-time, paid at export. If you paid but have not yet downloaded your PDF, email us within 7 days of purchase and we’ll refund you — no questions asked. To request a refund, email hello@rentfiles.com from the address you used at checkout.

RentFiles sells instantly delivered digital content: after payment, the service generates your rental application PDF.

Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.

1. Before you buy

Before checkout, RentFiles shows:

  • the product or pack;
  • the price and currency (A$29, one-time; taxes, if applicable, are shown at checkout);
  • what the product is designed to provide;
  • that RentFiles does not guarantee rental approval;
  • links to our Terms, Privacy Policy, and this Refund Policy.

2. The 7-day pre-download refund

If you have paid but have not downloaded your PDF, you can request a full refund within 7 days of purchase for any reason — no questions asked. Once your PDF has been generated and downloaded, the digital product has been delivered, so the standard rules in sections 3–4 apply instead.

3. When refunds are available

Beyond the 7-day window above, we will review refund requests where:

  • you paid but did not receive access to the PDF;
  • the PDF could not be generated due to a technical issue;
  • the generated PDF was materially faulty and we could not fix it;
  • you were charged twice for the same purchase;
  • you were charged the wrong amount;
  • a payment was made without your authorisation;
  • applicable consumer law requires a refund, repair, replacement, or other remedy.

4. When refunds are usually not available

Unless required by applicable law, or covered by the 7-day pre-download window, refunds are usually not available where:

  • the PDF was successfully generated and downloaded;
  • you changed your mind after downloading the digital product;
  • you entered inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • a landlord, agent, or property manager rejected your application;
  • you expected RentFiles to guarantee rental approval.

5. Fix-first approach

If the issue is technical, we may first try to fix the issue, regenerate access, or provide a working download link.

If we cannot provide the digital product you paid for, we will refund you.

6. How to request a refund

Email hello@rentfiles.com and include:

  • the email used at checkout;
  • approximate purchase date;
  • payment currency and amount;
  • a short description of the issue (not required for the 7-day pre-download refund).

Do not send full card numbers or sensitive documents by email.

7. Review time

We aim to review refund requests within 2 business days, but complex cases may take longer. Refunds are processed manually and returned to the original payment method; your bank or card provider may take additional time to show the refund.

8. Chargebacks

If you have an issue, contact us first so we can investigate and help.

If you file a chargeback, we may provide evidence to the payment provider showing whether the digital product was delivered and accessed.

9. Consumer rights by location

Australia

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law may apply, including remedies where a product or service fails to meet applicable consumer guarantees.

Other locations

Where you buy from outside Australia, local consumer and digital-content rules may also apply. This policy does not limit rights that apply where a product is defective or where local law requires a remedy.
